Our little one has been with us for over 4 months now! Crazy! It’s such a joy to be able to watch her grow and learn new things. Each stage that she goes through becomes my new favourite. I can only imagine how much fun (and more work!) it will be when she is crawling around the house.
Sleeping: Bug always has been a good sleeper, but lately she is da bomb! She goes to bed at 8, and usually sleeps until 7. The last fews days she has been waking up around 4 or 5 for a little snack, but that hasn’t been the norm lately. She does however stir throughout the night because she is looking for her soother. So I sometimes have to wake up, shuffle down the hall, pop the soother in and crawl back to bed. She goes right back to sleep, so it isn’t that big of a deal. A bit of a bother to wake up, but once she is able to find that sucker (pun intended) on her own I’m hoping that will stop. Bug also takes 3 naps throughout the day; 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and a little catnap in the evening around dinner time.
Body: I think her weight is around 14 or 15 pounds right now. Not really sure because it’s too hard to try and weigh her here at home. When we head to the doc this week I will know the exact digits. All I know for sure is that she is growing! We had to move to the next size in diapers (Why are those things so expensive?! They hold poop!) so that is evidence right there.
Eating: Ugh….this is a bit of a sore subject right now. Lately Bug has been pretty fussy when it comes to her feedings. Fussy to the point that both of us have been in tears the odd time. I’m not really sure what the issue is, and since I am breastfeeding it’s even harder for me to get answers. It’s always “well, could be this, or could be that…”. In the last few weeks I think we have only had like 5 good feedings. Overall, she just doesn’t seem like she wants to eat, even though she is hungry. If that even makes sense… Her 4 month doctor visit is this week, and I am hoping for some answers. In good news, she doesn’t seem to need a feeding during the night time, except for the odd night as mentioned above. As well, she eats every 4 hours now, instead of 3. I feel like so much more time has been given to us to play! I think it will almost be time for some cereal to be added to the mix.
Mood: This girl just melts my heart. She is so smiley and laughs all the time. It’s so nice to have a happy baby, I feel so lucky. Well you know, aside from the current feeding situation. Oh, and she loves to shop. Mostly for me though. Almost everyday she is like “Mooom, let’s go buy you some new clothes! You deserve it!” And really….how can I say no to such a cute face! (I swear, that actually happens Jose!). She’s also so chatty. She talks a mile a minute to us. And her toys. The conversations she has with Lamby (her fav stuffed toy) can get pretty intense.
Milestones: Her newest trick is holding her feet. She found them a few weeks ago, and has been obsessed since. They, along with anything else she gets her hands on, are in her mouth most of the day. Bug can also hold her head up nice and strong now. We are still working on tummy time, she isn’t the biggest fan, but she’s getting there.
Things have been so busy around the house that I haven’t had any time to blog, and I miss itI’m hoping with all the fun Christmas events coming up that I will have lots to blog about. We re-painted our whole house over the past 3 weeks. I totally forgot to take before and after pictures. We went from brown/beige walls, which we painted when we first moved here almost 3 years ago, to light grey and light turquoisey-aqua. And I love it! It totally brightens up the house, which was the plan! Mission accomplished. Well not completely. We are going to do some furniture updates in the new year, and I can’t wait for that! I’m sure I will keep you updated. Or I will try to at least
