Ugh…. I love the winter just as much as the next winter lover, but lemme tell ya… When you are stuck inside ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, it’s not so fun. I am going crazy inside these walls. I want spring to be here! I want walks outside where Bug and I don’t have to wear 10 layers of clothing. I want beautiful flowers and green grass. I want to be able to open the windows and let some fresh air in! It’s really not too much to ask…
And as much as I love staying home with my babe, these days can be a little mundane. I mean, it’s pretty sad when a good day is when I happen to notice the dryer stopped while the clothes are still warm and I don’t have to put them back on wrinkle release for another 20 minutes….
It can also get a little lonely too. Bug is great company, she just doesn’t talk in a language that I can understand. So it kinda makes it a little hard to figure out who she thinks should win The Amazing Race, or who wore the best dress at the Oscars.
(I kinda regret putting those words out there because I know 15 minutes from now, when my mom reads this, I am going to get a call telling me to join a mommy/baby group….)
Ok! Enough of the winter blahs…
One fun thing that I have going on right now is planning Bug’s baptism, which is coming up in a few weeks. So I have been working on some crafts and decor for that, which I plan to share in a later post. Jose and I were hoping to be able to redecorate the house a little bit before then. But seeing as Ikea has decided not to have their dining or living room events yet, we are going to wait until they do. Saving every little penny (guess this saying doesn’t make sense anymore?) helps, so a sale we will wait for! So until then, I have created a mood board of my thoughts for the dining room. It’s not the same as actually having them in my house, but still makes me happy to see them all together like this. And yes…I even put actual wedding photos of us in the frames. At the time I was laughing at myself for being such a geek and putting waaay too much time into this, but really it’s actually kind of helpful to see how the photos would all look together. Just an FYI….
In other earth shattering news – WE BOUGHT A PANINI PRESS!! Honestly, it’s been the best purchase EVER! I am obsessed! If you don’t have one, you need to get one. It takes the most boring sandwich or wrap and makes it into a DELICIOUS sandwich or wrap. In keeping with my ‘trying new recipes’ adventure, we tried one from this book by the Barefoot Contessa. It’s super easy to make – prepared store bought pesto, tomatoes, and mozzarella on a ciabatta bun.
Go make it right now, you will love it!
